In September I visited the sunny Budapest with my friends :)
We went to Budapest with Student Agency from Prague for about 15 Euros. We arrived at a place called Könyves Kálmán. These Hungarian names are so amazing. The bus stop was right next to an underground station which we used to get to our hostel, which couldn't been hidden better. The Zsófi's House was in a building which was being renovated with all the constructions around it. The only thing that showed the existence of the hostel in that building was a little sticker on the door, surrounded with many others. A sticker. Amazing. We were so glad when we finally stood on the first floor in front of the entrance! The pictures on the internet looked much better than it was in reality, but we paid like 7 euros per night and the hostel was just a few steps away from the beautiful parliament, so who cares!
Wanna know what was pretty strange? The underground! The doors closed quickly and with such a strength, that you really wouldn't like to enter a few seconds too late. When you enter late the underground in Prague, the door just smoothly opens again. I really don't know what these doors would do with you, scary af.
However, we were really happy to use the underground because it was extremely hot outside! We saw a lot of beautiful buildings and went through many parks, but.. even if the names weren't so super strange I probably wouldn't be able to remember all the names.
We really liked the little castle you can see on the left, which looks a little bit like Hogwarts, doesn't it? The Heroe's square and the parliament, as the most famous places in Budapest are definitely worth seeing! My favorite place was in a park on a little island on the Danube which we randomly came across to. In the park is a big fountain, that starts an amazing water show with music every hour! When it got dark we went to the fountain again, it was so beautiful and full of colors! They even played the song Budapest by George Ezra. The show didn't take ten minutes like in the afternoon, but one hour! But it was absolutely worth it! I wonder why we haven't seen that fountain on the internet when we googled "must see in Budapest"!

We discovered one very nice restaurant in American style- Sunny Dinner and a little café called Coffee 13, which was just a few steps away from our hostel. Almost everything is pretty cheap in Budapest, even though I didn't feel like spending little money, because everything cost at least a few hundreds of forints. One forint is like 0,002 Euros.
In our hostel, we found a little guide which led us to a very cheap restaurant near our hostel. It was really cheap, I can't complain, but the talk with the waiter was really worth it.
I Ordered a meal with my friend we couldn't tell if it's vegetarian or not. So ve asked the waiter if that meal was vegetarian, he said yes but didn't look very confident. So I asked again if in that meal really isn't any meat. He said no. When he brought us the food all over the plate were pieces of some Hungarian sausage. Thanks, man! I told him that there is meat on my plate and he said that there is no meat at all. Well, I just gave up, there was no sense in continuing that discussion. We gave the meat our non-vegetarian friend and decided not to order a dessert.
Budapest is famous for its baths, which we decided to visit of course. On the internet, we looked for the cheapest Bath, which should be the Lucács bath (in the morning the entrance is even cheaper!) We found some outdoor pools and a lot of indoor pools with different temperatures and different minerals. I'm saying we found because the orientation in that place wasn't so easy. Almost all the signs were in Hungarian, which didn't really help us. We asked one lady we met inside, but she couldn't speak English and even though we tried to show what we are looking for with our hands and legs she wasn't able to help us. In the end, the kind lifeguard helped us to find the way to the indoor pools, hooray! Don't forget to take a bathing cap with you because you could not enter some pools without it. I haven't seen anyone who would check that, but the look in the mirror with that is worth it.
Even though it was sooo hot outside we went to that big hill, to see the whole city. At least it was worth it because it was way too hot for me. I was dying and melting. On the top of the hill, there is also the Hungarian Statue of liberty.
If you wouldn't go out at night to see the amazing water show I told you about, go out to see the city at night, it's pretty stunning.
